Overview
Our Internet hosting infrastructure is located in London's Docklands, the heart
of the Internet in Europe. The building is a state-of-the-art data centre, designed
for hosting servers. Our infrastructure is fed by five separate Internet connections
from three different backbone bandwidth providers. Our network is a redundant set
of switches with every server connected to both networks for maximum reliability.
There is no better place to run your important Internet services.
The Building
Our data centre is in a specially designed neutral co-location facility in London’s
Docklands. The entire building is given over to the hosting of servers on the Internet.
The building features the very latest world class resilient infrastructure, including
multiple levels of 24/7 security, stable high-capacity power supplies, fire protection,
in-house support and environmental controls.
The specifications are as follows: -
Power and Air Conditioning
• 6 No 2000 KVA Rotary UPS/Generators
• Close control downflow air conditioning units to guarantee stable temperature
and humidity @ N+1
• 2 independent AC chilled water systems @ N+1
• 8.0 MVA of UPS conditioned power @ N+1
• Diverse Power Supplies with diesel generator backup @ N+1
Security
• Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) installed
• Smoke detection system
• MIST fire suppression system
• CCTV system covering all entrances/exits and main areas
• 24-hour video recording
• Full perimeter alarm
• Iris scan access system
• Visual verification of all persons entering the data floor
This building is the best place to locate your mission-critical servers and data.
The Bandwidth
InterLinx runs a completely independent, autonomous Internet network. We have five
separate connections to three different Internet backbone providers. Our network
is therefore independent of any particular supplier and we are able to choose whichever
suppliers are most appropriate for our requirements.
Presently, we have 500Mbit/s of bandwidth spread across tier-1 bandwidth provider,
Cogent Communications and two specialist UK providers, Gyron and Burstfire. From
these suppliers we get excellent international and UK connectivity.
The bandwidth is fully redundant because we use a pair routers to consolidate the
bandwidth. These routers are both capable of supporting the entire infrastructure
on their own should a failure occur.
Given the redundant connections and redundant router infrastructure, we believe
that our bandwidth is second to none in Docklands.
